if measurement weighing enumeration and valuation be performed at all,

An objection must here at the outset be anticipated.
In the case of moveable articles (it may be said) speak not
of distinction of value as the necessary consequence of division: of the
destruction of the value as the necessary consequence of the
division of the substance: for by sale, then as now, that would be
