Functions for the
Board
Your Committee have thus now gone through
the expenses of punishment - the only branch
of the expenses of the public which they
found accessible to their enquiries. As to
the several other branches finding themselves
mostly without means materials and altogether
destitute of the means of collecting them
in any regular order or sufficient quantity
back to the subject of
the Board the establishment of which they
have already ventured to propose, as the
only indispensable instrument without the assistance of
which no such information can be procured.

They will accordingly proceed in the first
place to sketch out in general terms the
functions which it as appears to them it
might be of use to committ allott to the
Board.

After that That done they will endeavour to
sketch out a few general views of the
remaining part of the subject,
such as might contribute serve in some measure
to assist the proposed in the event
of the establishment of the proposed Board
to assist it in the investigation of the business might serve in some measure as a
committed to its charge. to direct its attention
and guide it in its course.
