S.B. Pump. 1773
Dear Brother
If you have seen Queen's square place you have heard I
suppose of the Answer I received from the Surveyor. But
least you should not or perhaps an aggravated one, I
tell it you as near as possible to the truth. I first (as I
intended) called upon Mr Marsh's he was not at home
but at the Board room, so I sent for him, and shew'd him
my drawing which he admired. I then asked him whether
he thought I had best carry it to the Board or the Surveyor
only, he answered that he wished the Board to see it, but
thought the Surveyor should see it and Shew it them.
he desired me also to press him to propose one to be fitted
as he himself thought it an improvement worthy to be put
in practice; and say'd also that he would Send him out to me.
