<p>As ill luck would have it, D<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Mulford went out of
<lb/>
town <del>suddenly</del> on the sudden yesterday <sic>sennight</sic>, a fortnight
<lb/>
or more before, as he told me, he had proposed. I was
<lb/>
told however <add>at his lodgings</add> that he talked of returning again in a
<lb/>
short time. I wrote to him last night to know when.
<lb/>
I know of some business he has, that will probably
<lb/>
bring him to town within these three weeks</p>
 
<p>M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Wise was in town a few days ago, and brought me
<lb/>
a letter from M<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi> Wise.</p>
 
<p>Your letter to Wilson came to hand.</p>
 
<p>As to keeping accounts, for your own satisfaction the
<lb/>
<del>practise</del> measure would by no means be a bad one. At
<lb/>
present perhaps it might be of no great use. But if
<lb/>
your <add>money</add> concerns should ever come to be a little more complicated,

it might be absolutely necessary. As to <sic>shewing</sic> them

told however at his lodgings that he talked of returning again in a
