Sir,
I will let Lord Shelburne know of your brother's absence
at Portsmouth, and of the consequent impossibility of his
waiting on Lord Shelburne by Friday morning. I dare say
Saturday or Sunday morning would suit Lord Shelburne
very well, if his Lordship stays so long in town; as
I think it likely that he will do, now that the Spanish
ambassador has declared his master's breach with us.
And, if Lord Shelburne should be gone into the Country
before your brother comes to town, I dare say he will
be glad to see him at his Country-house. Lord
Shelburne is a good-natured, affable, man and easy
of access, and expressed an approbation of your brother's
spirited intention of visiting the Sea-ports of the
northern parts of Europe.
