of turning some information I have got to good account, possibly in the
Court plan. and I recollected several things requisite to be done immediately
which I had entirely forgotten. I also noted down some Queries
which I have just now been writing sending to Henderson at Amsterdam
to be answered. Saturday morning Chas Hanbury took me to
Professor Bush at the Academy here and to Mr Norenan Governor
of the Academy that I might make enquiries for you about law
books &c. I went but was so stupid having the heart-burn all
the time that I knew not how to put a single question intelligilly.
We went however again this morning, and I managed much better.
I called with Chas Hanbury this morning on Mathias. They are upon very
intimate terms. He was excedingly civil asked us to in the most familiar
manner to come and sit with him this evening after post was gone out,
that he had got a few Casks and I knew not not what to give us.
We therefore sup with him: but I take no heed not what I shall put on
or where withal I shall be clothed but go as I have been walking about all
day. He told me of Baccarti's being gone to Lubec to go by the Vessel
in which I am going and of his having a charming young lady under
his care who is going with him to Warsaw. Hanbury's friend is to give
me timely notice of the Vessels sailing again but by the last account we
believe it will be fryday, if so I go from hence Thursday Baccarti has been
kicking his heels there since monday waiting for the Vessel's sailing.
I shall I believe at any rate go on Thursday to make sure especially
as Mr Hanbury will take care that I shall have acquaintance with
one or two of the principal people at Lubec. I hope to send you no more
