A Translation, from the french, of Three Letters
written by Prince Potemkin, Governor of
New-Russia, and Azoph, and General Governor, or ViceRoy,
of the Crimea — To Lieutent Colonel
Samuel Bentham
Sir,
The offer you have made me of being willing to take the
Charge of putting my Fabrics upon a better footing is not
only of itself extremely agreable to me, but the solidity
of your Principles upon that Head engages me to beg
you to undertake the superintendence, and I have
given my Orders that you shall be obeyed in every
thing relative to those Establishments; Charmed
with your activity, and the progress of your obliging
cares, I am, with the most perfect esteem,
Sir,
your very humble
& most obedt Servt.
Prince Potemkin
