It was with not without reluctance I could bring myself a great mortification to me to be obliged to say say any thing in which you
were concerned which you had not seen without you seeing it: yet if I had said nothing
about you of that sort, I might as well might I have said nothing. I called accordingly
here at the office with my leading-strings on my back:
but finding you both inaccessible I was forced either to stand
still or to go alone. I walked yesterday to say what I have been now
wanting, but the D. of Gloucester had you prisoner, the a Council was
sitting, and there was no hope of seeing you. Believe me,
to be with most lasting respect Dear Sir
Yours ever
