the Necessity of boarding in their
own SQUARE, — the Trade of Boarding
Houses would become a MONOPOLY,
and the Price of Education,
(already too great) would be enhanced
accordingly; — And that, if they
had no such Intention, all the Pretences
urged in Support of the Undertaking
fell to the Ground:

That those, who encouraged the
Bill, on a Supposition that the Scope
and Drift of it was for the sole Benefit
of WESTMINSTER-SCHOOL, might
be convinced the Petitioners were actuated
by lucrative Motives only; —
seeing that the vast Extent of Ground
and Houses taken in (near a Mile in
Circumference), was infinitely more
than could possibly be wanted to answer
any of the declared Ends of the
Petition: That
