Mr calls for the receipt. It being pretty
evident that no such receipt can be produced, Mr Chief
Inspector gives this intimation that he is not to be satisfied
with any other. Applying to the surviving partner, Mr White
I obtain from him a receipt, the only none having been
given to me before. This receipt I send herein inclosed.
Along with it I received a letter note from Mr White, stating
