Answer to the requisition in p. 6. viz. the Accountant

A receipt for this payment is herewith sent. The By
the word the it seems to be taken for granted, naturally enough, that if such
payment was made, a receipt was given for it at the
time. In fact Though payment was made no receipt was given
for it at that time. The omission is accounted for in
a note I have received from the said Mr White, (enclosing
the abovementioned receipt) in answer to a letter of mine
in and by which I applied for it. The letter and answer
are will be produced if with called for by the Board.
I forbore encumbering them with such papers unless called
for. Neither directly nor indirectly have I had any
communication epistolary or oral with the said Mr White, other than
by those two letters.
