of soft paper and the oiled board. The Tympan Frame<lb/>
is then turned down and the carriage placed under<lb/>
the <unclear>scraper</unclear>, which must have a true edge a little rounded,<lb/>
The pressure is increased or diminished by the screw in<lb/>
the centre. After this has been done, The Transfer Sheet<lb/>
may be carefully damped on the back with a weak<lb/>
solution of Nitric Acid and Water. It may then be<lb/>
carefully placed on the Stone the soft paper &amp; oiled<lb/>
board over it, The Tympan turned down as before<lb/>
and the pressure applied.</p>

The Writing on Drawing having been prepared on Transfer

In order to ascertain the degree of pressure, which for

paper on the face of the Stone, then a couple of pieces
