St. MARGARET and St. JOHN the Evangelist,

WESTMINSTER.

THE following is a LIST of those Right Honourable, Honourable and
Worthy GENTRY and INHABITANTS of the said PARISHES, who were
pleased voluntarily and liberally to subscribe the Sums set against their
respective Names, for raising a FUND for providing for the better
Security of the INHABITANTS, by strengthening the PATROLE and
WATCH; which was set on Foot in the Month of AUGUST, 1782,
in Consequence of the many alarming BURGLARIES then lately
committed, particularly that in St. MARGARET'S—STREET, in which
RICHARD HUNTER and JAMES HAIRBOTTLE, (Two Watchmen) were
dangerously wounded, the latter of whom died in JANUARY, 1783,
after being discharged from WESTMINSTER HOSPITAL, (at his own
Request) apparently recovered of his Wound, but continuing in a
weak and languid State.
