Monday Morning
Soar, my Spirit! to thy home
Whence thy hopes, thy pleasures come
Up to Him whose smile of light
Call thee to devotion's lay –
This is His and duty's day
Be it holy in His sight!
Make the angel choirs above
Clad with glory, light & love
See devotion's holy throne
Bending to the earth her eye
Lo! she calls us to the sky summons us on high
Summons us & leads us on.
Bright and cloudless as the day
When the summer's golden ray
Rules the glorious noon-tide hour,
Is the spirit Soul illumed by her;
Is the privileged worshipper
Led by her enlightening power.
But the cloud of darkness spread
Tempests gather over head
