Again the morning's beams proclaim
The glories of Thy sacred name,
And heaven & earth & air & sea
Reflect Thy might – Thy majesty.

Thy everlasting love is spread
O'er valley plains & mountain-head
Breathes in the breeze & lights the dew
Tis ever active, – ever new.

But man – thy friend – thy favorite shares
Thy kinder, sense the distinguished thy peculiar cases –
And what is man, – that he should be
A friend, – a favorite Lord! of Thee?

May I state thro' life obedient, prove
My reverence, gratitude & love
And seek, above all other fame
Ot merit Mans most noble name.

O, may it be my constant aim
To merit this distinguished name –
All other praise – all other bliss
Is weak, is vain compared with this.
