Collectanea. Spain and Naples
Naples
Morn. Chron. Sept 6.

"The accounts from Naples of the 15 ult, give a notice from
the Ministry of War, stating that several batalions of infantry, and
some other troops, had embarked for Sicily and were to be followed by
new detachments. Cavalry were also to be embarked in the course
of two or three days. An Augsburg article of the 25th ult quotes
letters from Vienna stating that the Court of Austria had not manifested
its intentions, respecting the affairs of Naples, and that
it was confirmed that nothing could be done till after measures
had been concerted with other great powers.

A specimen of the kind of rumours that are circulated
on the continent is to be found in a Vienna article in the Gazette
de France, in which it is without scruple asserted that the
journey of the Duke of Cambridge to the Austrian capital is
undertaken with reference to the active co-operation of England
in the measures which are to be adopted ( for (what is called)
the re-establishment of tranquility in Italy."
