will no be necessary for him to wait for realities,
or what are given as such. No: to the above fictitious
sums let him substitute any other fictitious sums
at pleasure, and thence in regard to the whole together,
see whether on enquiry into the facts, probability
can in the nature of the case be ascribed to
any such facts, as can render the ultimate practical
conclusions different from what it is here stated
to be.
Such is the language of Reason: of that Reason
which has arithmetic for her handmaid:

other form has argumentation a claim to the name
of Reason.
II. So much as to pecuniary profit: now as
to honor. My friends, so long as any the least fragment,
