Penal Code.

I the difficulty here in question be regarded as the
ground of peremptory abjection, it would make
no small clearance, in every code, that has as yet
seen the light.

Not to speak of punishment, the English code in
particular terms with cases, in which under the
name of compensation, the burden, 10, 20 or 100
times as heavy as many are that has been
imposed in the name of punishment has been
imposed for transgressions, by which not a particle
of vexation was it probable enough produced:
the judicial demand having been
produced by no other motive than the satisfaction
expected from the sight of an adversary
sinking under the burden of the judicial expense
the place. For cases of this sort one place to look
into is the title of action in the case for words.
