Case in which Fine may be Converted to Imprisonment.
Although a pecuniary punishment only should
be appointed by the Law there is one case in which the
Judge may convert it, or a part of it into Imprisonment:
to wit where there appears reason to believe that
the Defendant is supported by a person or set of
persons who were associates in, or at least are approvers
of, the Offence; which person or persons will discharge
or contribute to discharge the fine.
