(Translation) 24 April 24, 1821.

Senhor João Baptista Selgueiras , Member of the
Portugueze Cortes, used two of the at Lisbon, and one of the Secretaries of the Assembly for

The General and Extraordinary Cortes of the
Portugueze Nation, having received the obliging present
of you those your alike celebrated and interesting works of your
which have been addressed to them by one, and presented
by another, of those well-deserving litireus, who have borne
a distinguished part in the glorious achievement of
of the regeneration of Political Regeneration of the Portugueze Monarchy, have given word is Resolved passed a Resolution that their grateful acknowledgements
be made for so valuable an offering be made to you and that they
should be accompanied by the Copy of a Minute in
their Journals, in which honourable mention of it thereof
is made: to in which Resolution is contained moreover
a clause, ordering that same and moreover that those same works be translated
and published, to in such sort that it shall be as to render
manifest to all eyes the particular admiration extraordinary regard
and particular consideration attention with which, by this Sovereign
Congress Assembly, acceptance has by their Sovereign
Assembly been given to those most important writings
of the illustrious friend of man, and conspicuous
Advocate of the cause of Nations.
