Constitutional Code

But though, as applied in regard to in relation to
extra public service and correspondent real merit, the possession of
these instruments of delusion is false and decp deceptious evidence
in relation to a two matters of fact by the belief of which
the correspon effect is mostly produced, it is quad person true and
rightly instructive evidence:. namely the fact One is that to the
conferrer of the appellation or the badge, the or to some
person or other who useful instrument or favorite of his, the receiver
stands in the relation of an instrument or a favorite,
another is – that his station in the community is in that circle
within which the possessors of the largest share of the objects of general
desire, namely power, opulence, reputation, accompanied
with ease, and facilities for exercising vengeance on opponents
are comprized: in a word, the individuals the influential few
of whom the aristocratical section of the Public Opinion Tribunal
is composed. Thus, for securing to them a man person of this class the regard and
respect, with the their fruits as above, of their those his associates no delusion or deception is
necessary: all that is necessary is that they believe him to be one
of themselves, which is true. On those at alone whose situation
in the democratical section and whose hopes do not soar above
it, is the deception – the false conception produced: to them, by
the fact of his belonging to that influential circle he may be
an object of fear: but to them only on the supposition of extraordinary
service rendered by him to the circle to which
they themselves belong can he be an object of love.

Thus to they contribute to the efficiency of corruption
by serving as a bond of association by and an instrument of conjunct power to those among whom the
fruits of
at the expence of the great body of the people the fruits
of it are shared.
