1. To what purposes? Answer in general terms, three: –
1. Judicability and thence eventually for definitive execution and effect, as above. 2. Probation. 3. need to j subserviency to
judicature.

2. On the part of what persons? Answer in general terms
three Classes three. 1. To the purpose of judicability, parties on
both sides, pursuers and defendant's. 2. For the purpose of probation
extraneous witnesses and possessors of sources of articles
of written evidence and sources of real or adequate evidence. 3. Persons
whose acts whether for preparatory coercion, execution or communication
may happen to on the occasion in question be become eventually necessary by appropriate execution
and these may be either permanently engaged, as are the functionaries
belonging to the official establishment, or persons at large
incidentally, as occasion calls enlisted in the service of justice.

3. At what places? Answer. All the several places, at which
for the purpose in question, on the occasion in question, the service
in question is at the hands of the person in question needed.

4. Of what subject matter? Answer. They are all of them reducible to two sorts, persons and things.
