A Coach, a chair, a cart, a waggon, a
wherry will point a man out, so long as he
stands by them: so will may his regimental coat point out a soldier so long as
he has thinks fit to keep it on. But it is possible for a man
to change throw off his coat: it is possible for him to go sally
forth out without his coat coach, or if hard pressed

it be a serious affair,
the man is gone. Is there nothing more effectual than in

There is a degree of singularity for which
[in the minds of the bulk of politicians judges speculators] no singularity degree
of utility can atone: "argue not the use": the "non
amo te Sabidi" is a principle which legislators
of the common mould of a certain cast apply to the choice of a
law with as little ceremony as to the choice of
an acquaintance: nor will any other be easily adopted
by those who consider legislation rather as an
occupation to amuse themselves with, than⊞ ⊞ as a science and as a trust to
execute.
