EXEMPTION Royalty

I leave the Author of the Commentaries to regale his own reason and inform the judgment
of his pupils with suppositions against contrary to experience while I call upon Britons
to admire the that equally happy & singular continuance of their constitution of their country by means
of which the follies and even the crimes of their Sovereigns are prevented from
being fatal either to the people or to themselves.

As to all matters for which where therefore is a responsible substitute,
it can only be [an effusion of] , & [of] a
very mistaken if any regard, for the wellfare of
the people, that can prompt a man to point
[his] invectives against the person of the Sovereign.
But there are some few acts so much exclusively his own .....

When it can be shown that the Blood runs in
men's veins at present differently from what at present if
did in the days of [Sebastian] & Count Julian,
or differently in the vens of a Monarch and of a
subject.

We all know that country in which a provision
to this effect had were it be possible, might in
our own times have saved the acting of many
a bloody tragedy.

in the phrase of as physiologists: say a more irritable frame
or temperament of quicker sensibility.

Let us not fancy that a [forfeit] of this sort
could either in event, or in prospect (without which
a punishment in event signifies nothing) be attended followed
by by impunity.

The cries and hopes of a people not here as
else where to be stifled by .....

and make his life a burthen.

If there be any chance that a provision so glorious
to national justice, [so consentaneous to the fundamental
principles of the British constitution] &
so repugnant tot he ideas of courtly sycophantism
should ever be established, it is now that the brightest
examples of Conjugal fidelity are seated on the
throne. The people would not think they had lost
any thing of their security, should the effect of it be
postponed to the melancholy period, whenever it shall
arrive, when those examples shall be no more.
