Call it, a deceptious, or deceptitious act.
The one is the consummating act, the other the
in so far as the effect is intended, the attempt,
or say, the unconsummated act.

Perjury forgery & personation
instruments
of evil, therefore not
appropriate names
for any species of offence

By the several words, perjury, forgery,
and personation, the instrument employed,
in the production of the supposed mischievous
effect is but nothing else. They therefore
are not, anyone of them, appropriate to
the purpose of giving denomination to anyone
species of mischievous act, more than another.

They are Instruments of undue
profit to one at the expense
of another hence the idea
of depredation attached
to the words

But the mischievous purpose, to which
more than to any other, or than all others put
together, they have been used to be applied, being
the production of undue profit to one person
at the expense of another, hence the idea
of depredation, has commonly been involved
