That the Master Manufacturers should be<lb/>
bound to provide a certain portion of<lb/>
ground to serve as an ordinary play ground<lb/>
as well as a gymnasium and should be<lb/>
bound also to provide <unclear>instructory</unclear> in<lb/>
gymnastic exercises</p><lb/>
&#x2014;<lb/>
<p>That these exercises have been <lb/>
introduced with great success in Germany</p>
&#x2014;<lb/>
<p>That they have been introduced<lb/>
into ones <del><gap/></del> Military Schools founded<lb/>
by the Duke of York and also into<lb/>
other Military schools in this country, <add>and</add> as<lb/>
your petitioner has been informed have<lb/>
been <del><gap/> <gap/></del> productive of great<lb/>
benefits to the scholars.</p>
&#x2014;<lb/>
<p>That <del>the advantage</del> practice of<lb/>
gymnastic exercises have this advantage<lb/>
<del><gap/> the ordinary</del> <add>over the ordinary</add> exercises of children<lb/>
that a greater quantity of gymnastic exercise<lb/>
can be <del><gap/></del> given <del><gap/></del> within the same<lb/>
time <add>than in any of the ordinary modes of exercise:</add>: that the exercise can be better distributed<lb/>
<del>b<gap/>ed</del> over the whole body and that<lb/>
gymnastic exercises may be made the<lb/>
most <del><gap/></del> pleasurable to children</p>

<p>That <add>for the purpose on this occasion in contemplation</add> the species of exercise <gap/> <hi rend="underline">gymnastic</hi><lb/>
