Act 1809. Sect. 12. To The case of a prize condemned in the
East Indies is the case to which the matter of provision in this
Section are is confined. to

Under the direction of the Court, at "on the Application
of the" Greenwich Treasurers Deputy there resident, the Agent is shall
at the election of this Deputy, to pay over to him the
said Deputy, all unclaimed and forfeited shares and
balances, or else remit them to the Treasurer in England
.... remit them in what way as to time? – Answer, in
this way. Viz. "so that the same may be paid to the
said Treasurer within twelve months after the said
Agent .... shall have exhibited his .... accounts in
said Court of Vice Admiralty.

Good. But where the scene lies in England, by
the Act of 1805, viz. in §. 67, it was supposed that on the part of Captors to
the such Account when delivered reasonable objections entitled
to consideration a hearing be heard, objections requiring to be confirmed or
disallowed might be apt to arise.

But is it in to England alone that the danger evil
of objectionable accounts is confined? In the case of an
Agent the air of Hindostan is it in the case of an
Agent a any such sure preservation against all such complaints the complaints
as those of fraud rapacity and negligence?

Except what is given as above to the High Court in
London, For the receiving and taking cognizance of
any such complaints, I find not a Act my researches have not enabled me to discover any authority
in either Act. B

But at any future time, suppose any other enquirer more fortunate.
On this supposition, In this case twelve months for lodging the money fairly in
the hands of the Greenwich Treasurer twelve months peremptory seems rather an early period.
