Elementary functions, appertaining exclusively
Art 7 to the Judge of an Appellate Judicatory, those which follow. They are [+] as such: being such

of the corresponding functions, on the part of his Subordinate -the
Judge of the subordinate Immediate Judicatory his Subordinate

4. Substitutive: as where neither the arrangement
prayed by a Pursuer, nor that prayed by the Defendant
is made, but one different from both.

5. Modificative: confirming the subordinate decree
in part: altering it, in any of the above ways, as to
other parts.

II. Subriefinarity, decretive, to wit interlocuterity decretive thence

6. Retrotransmissive, or say Retromissive:whether for
the purpose [+] of fresh Trial, or say Enquiry, or in the inference [+] of receiving execution
and effect, at 2. of performance

Immediate Judicatory: and that, whether namely, as to the whole of the facts
collectively; taken or as to this or that fact exclusively:
or for the purpose of the execution and effect to be therein given to its decrees and mandates
in so far as confirmed
of the Subordinate Judicatory,

7. Suspensive: as to the whole, or as to a part or

consequence of application made, by a suitor, greater Dispatch than would otherwise
