So much for channels. In the sources he beholds an object
of still greater interest and of no small delicacy. In speaking
of the channels of his information he can not be too explicit
no fear can he have under that hand. Of his sources he can
not speak, he has many of sources he can not mention so much as to
the most distant allusion without a sort fear and trembling:
for he stands assured of many more than without
counteracting his own endeavours it would be possible for
him to .

So many channels so many sources: the pen and press of the Newspaper
Editor being the source of the information of which that printed
paper is the channel. But of the information which he will
communicate a large part has a source much high seated
namely the pen pens or the tongue tongues of a the constituted authority authorities in
the several States. These constituted authorities rise one above
another in a of ladder in different grades: and thevery
highest most elevated form no exception to the list of those to which he looks
on this occasion with unhesitating confidence assurance.
