and contained the theory and principles of it applied to
practice – it is not here asked what was the use made?
the use made was the adoption of all those features of
which the adverseness to the interest of the public and of the prisoners in respect
of the establishment in question, and at the same time the
subservience to latent personal and sinister interest had
then been demonstrated. What is asked is what is the
mention made? The answer is none whatsoever: no more
than if no such words had ever been in existence.

Nor is such suppression to be wondered it: since from in
that work in proportion as any man looks into
it will he find a disproof and exposure of every one
of the general observations and insinuations in by which
the condemnation passed by the Report in the principle establishment
acted upon in upon the foundation of that work is advocated
and endeavoured to be justified or its injustice hid
from view.
