The Spider Leaping swinging in the wind

I saw a spider swinging on the air
And said "Ambitious reptile! though repenteth
Our worldly proud ones aspiring onesfor even which Their Altho' thou trembles
At every breeze – thou With gust still thou canst not forbear
To mount aspiringly – for what? to fall
Humbled as other soarers fall! –" but Lo!
I looked & saw a film minute & small
Which the shrewd aspirant had scattered suspended so
That his retreat was safe sure – & then I said
Thou are not who the conquerers soarers of the world
For thou – if from thy seat of glory hunted
Hast made thyself secure by this light thread
What from thy height will land thee safe again –
O thou art wiser than prouder men!
