Here died Zemiso – & here the graves mourning
Scatter these flowers her sepulchre adorning
She had the virtues of her ancestors
Swiftness – & changeless constancy were hers
A little peevish angry wayward – now & then – but this
Something The mere of affection is –
For love is full of fear – & she be conferr'd
Her love to on one whom all delight to love the love of all who sways
Her voice of fond attachment was but heard
Amidst the echoes of a hundred nations echoing praise
And so the Gods have been to recompense her love her love her virtue who approves
Called not the mortal one to devote above when from this: scenes remov'd But made bid her faithfulness dwell immortal
Crown'd her fidelity
With immortality
And bade her dwell rest for ever aye near her friend the lord.
