Those, Father! whose Kind of gracious ear
Ever to the prayers attending
Of the humble worshippers
Whether from thy house ascending
Or from natures solitude; –
3 At thy social holy bending altar bending
2 We address thee – Wise & Good!
1 Every voice devoutly blending
Thou – our father's God & ours
Teach us all to love & fear thee.
Lead us thro' life's varied hours
Fixed on heaven, & ever near Thee
When our little task is done
May our children still revere Thee
Thus thy work shall hasten on
Till assembled world shall hear thee.
