<p>Black said that Brougham could not get on without<lb/>
jobbing – that there were so many hungry people to be<lb/>
satisfied – so many men to whom he had made promises<lb/>
that he could not break – that there would have been<lb/>
so much disappointment and irritation.  He said that<lb/>
he <add>Black</add> did not understand the matter – nor the merits of the<lb/>
discussion between Bentham &amp; Brougham – <unclear>He</unclear><lb/>
