The offence as a quarrel
will generally be quasi-continuous

Of Quarrels:
§

Expositive

By a quarrel understand a congeries of reciprocal
offences: offences committed by each of two
individuals at the charge of the other.

By a quarrel understand a clashes or congeries
of offence committed reciprocal the one against another, by
two individuals, or by two sets of individuals, one in each
of two opposite sides, or an individual on one side, and
a set of individuals on the other.

As to the nature of the office in the several cases
the will most commonly be offences againstaffecting power, offences
against affecting reputation, or offences against affecting reputation and power
both in one. But not the composite of a quarrel
any such offences affecting property – or in a word any
offences whatsoever, in so far as inducements are affected
by them.
