Punishment for the Immediate attempt of the state

For attemptingthe immediate attempt to commit a Rape
by actual violence
the principal offender shall be punished as follows
Instead of the afflictive punishment for Rape
he shall be imprisoned or confined to Hard
Labour for not less than half a year: and
during this his imprisonment that timehe shall be utterly
secluded from the society of the other sex.
In other respects he shall be punished as for Rape.
