sweets of power may be thus enumerated.  1. <add>Matter of wealth</add> Money and making<lb/>
moneys worth <del><gap/></del> or in other words the matter of subsistence <del><gap/></del> and<lb/>
abundance and <add>together with</add> the means of security.  2. power, or the faculty<lb/>
of causing other persons to minister to a man's happiness.<lb/>
3. respect, esteem, reputation, estimation ideal objects differing<lb/>
from one another by scarcely describable shades of difference, but<lb/>
all concurring in a <add>their</add> tendency to cause other persons to minister<lb/>
to a man's happiness;  <add>all so many means of <gap/> happiness</add> ease at the expence of duty and in particular<lb/>
official duty – <del>their</del> ease the absence of all painful labour<lb/>
and thence a <add>negative</add> means of negative happiness:  5. vengeance, at<lb/>
the expence of justice:  Matter of wealth <del>the means of gratification</del><lb/>
together with power, and estimation – means of gratification to<lb/>
the self-regarding and incidentally to the social affections; vengeance,<lb/>

To On a nearer closer and more particular view, the sweets of power objects
of general desire, and in so far as obtained by power, the
sweets of power may be thus enumerated. 1. Matter of wealth Money and making
moneys worth or in other words the matter of subsistence and
abundance and together with the means of security. 2. power, or the faculty
of causing other persons to minister to a man's happiness.
