Tothill Fields. Plan of Division - with Observations

Copy transmitted to the Bishop of Rochester (as Dean) 30 Novr: 1796.

Plan proposed on the part of Government, for the
disposal of the Waste comprised under the
denomination of Tothill Fields: to which isare added — Considerations

on the question, whether, & in what respects, it would
be for the advantage of the Dean & Chapter of
Westminster, to give their consent & concurrence
to the said plan —.

The plan is —
1. That the fee of the whole Waste be declared by Act
of Parliament to be in the Dean & Chapter solely —
2. That a portion, amounting to between 12 & 13 Acres
(composed principally of the angle formed
by the end of Rochester Row with the inclosed
grounds terminating in Storrs Gardens) be allotted
to the Dean & Chapter, to enable them to allow
a sufficient portion to be made use of in the capacity
of a Cricket Ground by the Westminster
Scholars, in satisfaction for the undefined &
unlimited use they have been accustomed to
make of the Waste for that purpose as long
as memory can reach.
