Upon this the emotions became
more and more complicated.
The A kind of pleasurable titillation produced
by the jingle of the verse on one hand. Vexation at hearing
a man spoken of in terms of approbation whom they had been
tearing limb from limb, and him one whom having used me
as they knew unkindly, had thence (for such is man's nature) made
himself my ill wisher, — on the other hand. The result of the
