<p>or limited time only or determinable at pleasure<lb/>might have placed themselves in a state of dependence<lb/>upon the servants or advisors of the Crown &amp;<lb/> not only such persons as might have accepted an Office<lb/> for term of life or good-behaviour although the<lb/> possession thereof might have commenced in virute<lb/> of a Contract And Whereas as well by reason<lb/> of the said proposed Contractor's purchasing<lb/> a considerable estate and thereon erecting a large<lb/> and expensive set of Buildings for the express &amp;<lb/> sole purpose thereof as in respect of the permanent<lb/> provision by him intended to be made for the said<lb/> Prisoners from and after their several and successive<lb/>times of liberation as well in &amp; by the said intended<lb/> Metasylum Establishment as by the said<lb/>Superannuation Annuity plan the said proposal hereby<lb/> intended to be carried into effect doth absolutely<lb/> require that the possession of the said Office of<lb/>Governor be secured to the said proposer during good<lb/> behaviour And Whereas by the terms of the<lb/> said intended Contract coupled with the forgoing<lb/> clauses in this Act the said Governor will not be<lb/> dependent <add>up</add> on the pleasure of any Servant or Servants</p>
