§.2. Applications.
Brief notice
of the 4 transactions,
with
their several
catastrophes.

Were this a Play or Novel I am writing, my
object would be of course to keep your Lordship's
expectations in suspence, and to retard keep back
the denouncement disentangling of these several narratives transactions/negotiations
as long as possible to the last moment. Entertainment Clearness however,
and intelligibility—not entertainment—being
the object here in view nor even that are objects at the best attainable,
if at all, at the best without some difficulty—
I shall take the liberty of giving a brief
intimation of the several catastrophes at this
early state stage, for the several correspondent
heads, the development of the details
intervening particularities.Application 1. Subject the Commencement the |^^^| of Subject, the Previous
Contract for the purpose of Contract. Purposes,
guarding against the contingency of Ld Salisbury's
decease before the completion of the business; and
for the purpose of the putting me, so much the sooner, in a condition
to treat with other parties interested, whether in those same hands, or in such
other hands as were requisite to the completion
of the allotment. for by letter dated Commencement.
1799: Result, —After having been
approved of and directions having been given by the Board, to
refusal on the part of their Sollicitor to prepare
to their Sollicitor accordingly refused by their
Sollicitor, such contract he declaring his refusal to execute
such directions. refusal on his part to execute such directions.
1799.+ Notice given
by me to Mr Long of such refusal—no notice
taken by him—and from that time all my
exertions to obtain either redress or explanation,
fruitless. 15 Novr 1799 or a day or two
before the conveyance Deeds conveyance executed without any previous
Contract. Tenth, 11th and 12th of October the dates apparent upon the face of the
Deeds.
