And whereas it may chance in some divers instances
that the family of a M quondam Penitentiary Prisoner
received into the Metasylum may at the opini
time of the entrance of such quondam Prisoner
into the said Metasylum thereinto be situated in some
remote part of England, and thereby in the whole
or in some part thereof be incapable of conveying
itself to the Metasy said Metasylum or the vicinity
thereof And whereas if the utmost stoppages that
can be made out of the weekly pay of such
Metasylum man or woman was be insufficient to
the ordinary charge of maintaining such family
the same must be state much farther from being
sufficient to defray any such extraordinary expense
Be it enacted that upon Petition for that purpose
signed by any such Man or Woman and
accompanied by a certificate on the part of
the said Governor attesting the fact of his or
her reception into the Metasylum and of his
or her inability to defray the charge of such conveyance
the Overseers for such Parish shall as
soon as conveniently may be cause such Family
or such part thereof as or chargeable to such Co
might lawfully be removed to the place of
Settlement
