<p>Since my last I have to thank you for two letters, together
<lb/>
with the franks which one of them announced.</p>
 
<p>You have been several times kind enough to offer me your
<lb/>
assistance with regard to the settlement of my Uncle's affairs: there is one
<lb/>
particular on which if you have time, and the employment be not
<lb/>
disagreable to you, I should be much obliged to you for it. I mean
<lb/>
the making an abstract of the title to the several parts of the Browning-hill
<lb/>
estate: such an abstract it will be necessary to be provided with,
<lb/>
in order to <sic>shew</sic> to any one who may be disposed to treat for the estate. I
<lb/>
write by this post to order the copies which I have of the title-deeds
<lb/>
to be sent directed for you to Q.S.P.: that you may know how
<lb/>
to describe this parcel so as to distinguish it from others, the direction
<lb/>
will be accompanied with these words "From M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Bentham of Lincoln's
<lb/>
"Inn". If it be agreable to you to undertake the job yourself, you will
<lb/>
send orders to Q.S.P. to have the parcel transmitted to you wherever
<lb/>
you are; if not, I will trouble to you to write a line to M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Browne,
<lb/>
commissioning him to do the business, and to send accordingly for the
<lb/>
parcel. In that case there will be no occasion to let him know
<lb/>
that I had any other thoughts than that of putting the business into
<lb/>
his hands in the first instance.</p>
 
<p><add>If sold by Auction,</add> What time do you imagine it would be necessary to allow

betwixt the first advertisement and the sale? Supposing I got the first
<lb/>
advertisement inserted in a week, might the Auction be so soon as Michaelmas?
