Perhaps, in order
to compensate for the
increase of temperature
produced by the

throughout the hot
season, large accumulations
of ice in
higher levels might
be necessary.
The Air being admitted
at a low
temperature, the greater
the space within
the shell, the less it
would be affected by
the several causes
of calefaction.
In the Experimental
Frigidarium
Brick Binns with
Barrels the interstices
betwixt the Barrels
being filled with
ice.
The endeavour might
be to preserve the temperature
as between
Barrel and Barrel
as uniform as possible,
and to such the differences
that took place
spots of those endeavour
would afford
the construction required
having Register Thermometers
for as many
of the Barrels as could be afforded
