<p>In my two last letters, I gave you such idea as it was in my<lb/>
 
power to give you by words, of this new plan of construction, considered in its most<lb/>
<hi rend="underline">simple</hi> form. A few more with regard to what further <hi rend="underline">extensions</hi> it may<lb/> admit of.</p>
<p>The utmost number of persons that could be stowed in a single building<lb/>
of this sort consistently with the purposes of each several institution being<lb/>
ascertained, to <sic>encrease</sic> the number, that of the buildings must of<lb/>
course be <sic>encreased</sic>. Suppose <hi rend="underline">two</hi> of these <hi rend="underline">Rotundos</hi> requisite: these two<lb/> might, by a <hi rend="underline">covered gallery</hi> constructed upon the same principles, be consolidated<lb/> into <hi rend="underline">one Inspection-house</hi>. <add>And</add> <del><gap/></del> by the help of <add>such a</add> <del>this</del> covered gallery,<lb/> the field of inspection might be <add>dilated</add> <del><gap/><gap/></del> to any extent.</p>
<p>If the number of Rotundos were extended to <hi rend="underline">four</hi>, a regular uncovered<lb/>area might in that way be <sic>inclosed</sic>: and, being surrounded by covered<lb/> Galleries, would be commanded in this manner from all sides, instead of<lb/> being commanded only from one.</p>
<p>The area thus <sic>inclosed</sic> might be either <hi rend="underline">circular</hi> like the buildings,<lb/> or <hi rend="underline">square</hi>, or <hi rend="underline">oblong</hi>, as one <add>or</add> other of those forms were best adapted to the prevailing<lb/> ideas of beauty or local convenience. A chain of any length, composed<lb/> of Inspection-houses adapted to the same or different purposes, might<lb/> in this way be carried round an area of any extent.</p>

In my two last letters, I gave you such idea as it was in my
power to give you by words, of this new plan of construction, considered in its most
simple form. A few more with regard to what further extensions it may
admit of.

The utmost number of persons that could be stowed in a single building
