Q.S.P. 29 July 1823.

Dear Sir

I hope my kitchen, such as
it is, will be found to furnish a second
plate on Thursday: if not, by the
instrumentality of a partition treaty,
with a rule and compass, a single plate
may be made to serve Potatoes & water
upon table, at exactly half after six: ½
after 6. By information from Mr. Secretary
Adams Smith, this is "Yankee's fare."

I find that after dinner, by candle
light I should have said, I have no
eyes to find any thing, nor consequently
to show any thing. I hope, therefore, to see
you by 6 at furthest.

Dear Sir
yours most truly
(signed) Jeremy Bentham

Richd. Rush Esq
&c &c &c.
