1VOLUME Legislative Stile - General Idea of

Choice of
Terms

With regard to the choice of Terms, the business is
to take care & see by a diligent general recensition, that
a general term proposed include all the particulars which
designed it should include: it if contains
more than designed, to cure its' laxity by
it's. exceptions: with respect to it's subordinate subalternate
particulars, to specify, all or none, or if any
& not all, to specify them only as examples.

Brevity of Word

Brevity of formation
Brevity of Aggregation

Brevity may be distinguished into Logical & Grammatical
- Logical regarding the formation of propositions,
the Grammatical the putting them together
in the sentence - Brevity of Propositions
& Brevity of Sentences.

A Sentence, and by means of it's Grammatical construction,
in which there is not one superfluous idea
presented, nor word thrown in, may yet, in instance by means of
it's Grammatical construction be more prolix, then
another which teems with both those superfluities.
