<add><del>Threat</del></add> Attempts and <sic>Terrification</sic> <add>Threatening[s] behaviour</add> agree in this; that<lb/>
they both indicate the probability of some calamity<lb/>
of the sort of those which it is the nature of the <add>seven</add> first<lb/>
<hi rend='underline'>genera</hi> of offences to produce. They indicate an intention<lb/>
which [is not consummated] fails of being consummated.<lb/>
On this account they may be <sic>stiled</sic> by<lb/>
one common appellation, viz: Offences <hi rend='underline'>inconsummate</hi>.<lb/>
Not but that the last of them necessarily does, and the<lb/>
first may produce [in the first instance] of themselves<lb/>
a calamity which <hi rend='underline'>is</hi> consummated. But then this<lb/>
is a calamity of a distinct kind from those other<lb/>
calamities: to wit, pain of apprehension, which is<lb/>
a pain <del>of</del> not of body but of mind. This <add>however</add> does not<lb/>
hinder but that with respect to the calamities produced<lb/>
by the 7 first genera of offences, which are<lb/>
bodily calamities, these I am speaking of may be<lb/>
<sic>stiled</sic> <hi rend='underline'>in</hi>consummate. So long as these <del>and</del> offences<lb/>
and no others have been committed, a mischief which<lb/>
was <add>either was or at least appears to have been</add> intended remains unconsummated.</p>

there may be reason for punishing him, who having<lb/>
it in his power would not contribute to prevent<lb/>

5) Personal Injuries in general.

Attempts & Terrification Offences inconsummate. Threat Attempts and Terrification Threatening[s] behaviour agree in this; that
they both indicate the probability of some calamity

genera of offences to produce. They indicate an intention
