<p>In the denomination of concatenated<lb/>
 
offences – for the distinction between<lb/>
offences consummate and offences<lb/>
introductory.  And in regard to offences<lb/>
introductory, for the distinction between <add>division into</add>,<lb/>
preparations and attempts, the demand is<lb/>
produced by the following purposes and considerations.<lb/>
whatsoever be the principal<lb/>
<del>difference</del> <add>denomination of the</add> offence, between the evil attached<lb/>
to the offence in its consummate state and<lb/>
the evil attached to it, in either of its introductory<lb/>
states a marked difference has place.</p>
<p>1.  In the case of the <del>introductory</del> <add>consummate</add> offence,<lb/>
the evil of both orders, first &amp; second has<lb/>
place.  In the case of the introductory<lb/>
offence, whether it be <add>actual</add> attempt, or no<lb/>
more than preparation, the evil of the first<lb/>
order is wanting.</p>
<p>As to the evil of the second order,<lb/>
this indeed has place;  but, whatsoever<lb/>
may be the place in regard to the real<lb/>
danger, the alarm produced by it,<lb/>
will manifestly be always, in a considerable<lb/>
degree inferior, to the claim in the<lb/>

Ch. VI. Concatenated Offences inchoate and consummate

In the denomination of concatenated
offences – for the distinction between
offences consummate and offences
introductory. And in regard to offences
introductory, for the distinction between division into,
preparations and attempts, the demand is
produced by the following purposes and considerations.
