the commercial intercourse between Sweden & Norway that all the<lb/> | |||
products & manufactures of Sweden may in future be<del><gap/></del> imported<lb/> | |||
by land & by sea into Norway free of duties if conveyed in Swedish<lb/> | |||
vessels; & the same privilege is reciprocally granted to the products<lb/> | |||
& manufacturers of Norway imported into Sweden. The Diet of<lb/> | |||
Norway, in whom has been latterly noticed a growing disposition<lb/> | |||
to resist the regal power, have postponed the consideration of the<lb/> | |||
law for the suppression of abuses of the liberty of the press, till<lb/> | |||
the final promulgation of the new criminal code; but the King<lb/> | |||
it is said has again forced their subject upon their notice by <gap/><lb/> | |||
<unclear>to Christians a new project</unclear> for such a law. The<lb/> | |||
claims of the English Merchants interested in the confiscations<lb/> | |||
made two years ago at Bodoe, in Norway, are urged with<lb/> | |||
much zeal by the British diplomatic functionaries. Mr Fitzgerald<lb/> | |||
had made a very pressing remonstrance to the Government<lb/> | |||
on that point. A large exportation of corn to Naples is<lb/> | |||
